Trekking-Abenteuer: Neuer Wanderweg im australischen Outback

Ein abenteuerlicher Wanderweg durch Australiens Outback soll zu einer der wichtigsten Touristenattraktionen Zentralaustraliens werden. Der neue Uluru-Kata Tjuta Signature Walk durch den zum Weltnaturerbe gehörenden Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park im Northern Territory wird schon jetzt vom zuständigen Minister Tanya Plibersek “als Weltklasse” bezeichnet und 2026 für Besucher geöffnet werden.

Das vollständig geführte Wandererlebnis beginnt im Schatten der riesigen roten Kuppeln von Kata Tjuṯa und endet nach 54 Kilometern am Fuße des Uluṟu, Australiens bedeutendstem Naturwunder. Auf dem Weg bietet die Wanderung unvergleichliche Ausblicke in alle Richtungen.

„Der Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa Signature Walk wird die großen Wanderungen Australiens neu definieren und die Kultur und Tradition der Aṉangu – und diese majestätische Wüstenlandschaft – dem Rest der Welt näher bringen,” so die Umweltministerin Tanya Plibersek.

Die traditionellen, indigenen Aṉangu-Besitzer des Uluru-Kata-Tjuta-Nationalparks werden die Besucher auf der vier Nächte dauernden Wanderung führen und ihnen Geschichten und Wissen über ihr uraltes Land, einschließlich der Aṉangu-Praktiken zum Schutz des Parks, vermitteln.

Diese Wüstenreise in das Herz Australiens ist das erste Übernachtungsangebot im Uluru-Kata Tjuta-Nationalpark.

Der neue Wanderweg wird den örtlichen Aṉangu-Gemeinschaften zugute kommen, indem in den ersten 10 Jahren mindestens 20 Arbeitsplätze geschaffen werden, sowie durch Vereinbarungen zur Einnahmeaufteilung.

Der Wanderweg wird von der Tasmanian Walking Company betrieben werden. Die Bauarbeiten für den Wanderweg haben diese Woche begonnen. (NAN – 23-10-24)
