Queensland: Eco-Gold für tropisches Insel-Resort Lady Elliot

Das Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort hat bei den jährlichen Queensland Tourism Awards die höchste Auszeichnung für Eco-Tourismus gewonnen. Das Management-Team erhielt im Hotel “The Star Brisbane” Gold in der Kategorie ‘Steve Irwin Award for Ecotourism’.

„Dies ist eine unglaubliche Ehre für unser Team im Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort, bei den Queensland Tourism Awards 2024 den Gold Award mit nach Hause zu nehmen!”, freute sich Resort-Geschäftsführer Peter Gash.

“Mit dieser Auszeichnung wird unser Engagement für nachhaltigen Tourismus gewürdigt und das Vermächtnis von Steve Irwin geehrt, der ja ein wahrer Verfechter für Tier- und Umwelt war”, so Gash weiter. “Wir sind stolz darauf, Verwalter dieser außergewöhnlichen Insel zu sein und zu zeigen, wie wir mit der Natur koexistieren und den Ökotourismus in sensiblen Umweltbereichen fördern können.”

Nachdem das Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort bereits Bronze bei den Qantas Australian Tourism Awards 2023 gewonnen hatte, freut sich das Insel-Team jetzt darauf, Queensland bei den National Awards im März nächsten Jahres vertreten zu können. (NAN 19-11-24)
