Every year, Germany’s cities come alive with color as hundreds of thousands of people gather for Christopher Street Day (CSD) celebrations, bringing communities together in support of LGBTQ+ visibility, equality and inclusion.
With more than 180 CSD events taking place across the country throughout the year, Germany offers countless opportunities for visitors and locals alike to experience its welcoming and diverse communities. Streets fill with music, performances, colorful parades and cultural programs, creating a joyful atmosphere while continuing to highlight the importance of acceptance and equal rights.
Many of Germany’s biggest CSD celebrations take place during the summer months. Munich kicks off the season on June 27, with a lively program of cultural events, performances and community gatherings that celebrate the diversity of Bavaria’s LGBTQ+ community. Cologne follows on July 5 with one of Europe’s largest Pride celebrations, transforming the city center into a vibrant festival of music, culture and connection. On July 18, Frankfurt and Leipzig each host their own CSD events, offering visitors the chance to experience the unique spirit of their local communities.

Berlin and Stuttgart celebrate on July 25, with Berlin’s iconic Pride march attracting hundreds of thousands of participants and spectators, while Stuttgart adds its own colorful citywide festivities. The season’s major events conclude in Hamburg on August 1, where a lively parade and community festival take place against the backdrop of the city’s famous waterfront.
While the larger cities often draw the biggest crowds, CSD celebrations take place across Germany, from major metropolitan areas to smaller towns and local communities. These events reflect the country’s ongoing commitment to openness, diversity and inclusion, while giving visitors a chance to connect with the people and communities that shape modern Germany.
Beyond the parades and festivals, CSD offers visitors a chance to experience Germany through the people and neighborhoods that bring its cities to life. The celebrations highlight the country’s ongoing commitment to diversity, equality and the freedom to be yourself.
