FIJI: Castaway Wilson findet Happy End

Das Comeback einer der ungewöhnlichsten Stars von Hollywood: Wilson, der Volleyball aus „Cast Away“, ist zurück auf der Leinwand – oder besser gesagt: auf Social Media.

In der neuen Kampagne „Wilson’s Happily Ever After“ von Tourism Fiji strandet der Filmheld erneut – diesmal jedoch nicht auf einer einsamen Insel, sondern mitten im Paradies.

Der 90-sekündige Kurzfilm zeigt, wie Wilson am weißen Sandstrand des Serenity Island Resort angeschwemmt wird – wo ihn ein junges fijianisches Mädchen namens Lani findet und in ihre Welt aufnimmt.

Was folgt, ist eine kleine Reise des großen Glücks: Eco-Trax-Ausflüge auf alten Schienen durch den Regenwald, Kava-Zeremonien, Kajakfahrten über türkisfarbene Lagunen – und natürlich eine Runde Volleyball mit neuen Freunden.

Fiji: Das neue Sehnsuchtsziel für Film und Reise

Was als augenzwinkernder Social-Media-Spot beginnt, ist auch eine Liebeserklärung an Fiji als Filmlocation und Urlaubsort. Über 1.200 Einheimische sind heute in der Filmproduktion tätig.

Internationale Drehs brachten im vergangenen Jahr fast 100 Millionen FJD in die Inselwirtschaft. Und auch der Tourismus zieht wieder an: In den ersten fünf Monaten 2025 verzeichnete Fiji einen Zuwachs von 9 % bei Gästen aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. (NAN 18-09-25)
