AUSTRALIEN: New South Wales’ Kultur-Hauptstadt erstrahlt mit Vivid Sydney

Vivid Sydney verwandelt zum 16. Mal den Hafen und das Zentrum von Sydney in eine lebendige, vor Farbe sprühende Stadt. Zum ersten Mal gibt das Festival Kunstschaffenden und Kreativen kein Thema vor, innerhalb dessen sie arbeiten sollen, und Besucher können sich daher dieses Jahr bei den verschiedenen kuratierten Veranstaltungen und Erlebnissen zu Licht, Ideen, Musik und Essen auf unvergleichliche Kreativität freuen.

Festivalbesucher erwarten bis zum 13. Juni 26 mehr als 200 Veranstaltungen, die die Sinne anregen, den Geist erweitern und unentdeckte Wunder erschließen – eine einzigartige Gelegenheit für Einheimische und Besucher, Sydney in einem völlig neuen Licht zu erleben. Das diesjährige Programm umfasst mehr als 80% kostenlose Veranstaltungen tagsüber und abends sowie einen 6,5 km langen Lichtspaziergang mit 43 Installationen, Projektionen und großformatigen öffentlichen Kunstwerken.

Ein weiteres Highlight ist die mit Spannung erwartete Rückkehr der Drohnenshow, die dieses Jahr in 22 Vorstellungen über der Cockle Bay (populäre Bucht in Sydney) erstrahlt. Darüber hinaus hat die beliebte Vivid-Feuerküche (Vivid Fire Kitchen) im Barangaroo-Naturschutzgebiet ein neues Zuhause gefunden, wo sie mit einer Reihe kulinarischer Schwergewichte aufwartet.

Vivid-Ideen (Vivid Minds) (ehemals Vivid Ideas) bietet erstklassige Gespräche und Darbietungen von einigen der weltweit führenden kreativen Köpfe. Brett Sheehy, der Festivaldirektor von Vivid Sydney, sagte: „Dieses Jahr markiert den Beginn einer aufregenden Entwicklung von Vivid Sydney. Wir haben das Programm in allen Bereichen erweitert, die Aufgabenstellung für die Kunstschaffenden geöffnet und die kreativen Beschränkungen aufgehoben, die mit der Vorgabe eines Hauptthemas verbunden waren.”
