Australia: Industry webinar to unpack new EU sustainability requirements – Image; Tourism Australia
Tourism Australia will host an industry webinar on 21 August 2026 at 11am AEST to help the industry adapt to the European Union’s ‘Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive’.
Enforced from 27 September 2026, the Directive introduces new requirements for environmental and social claims (“greenwashing”) made to consumers in the European Union.
The webinar will explain what is changing, why it matters, and what tourism businesses who are either directly or indirectly impacted, can do to prepare. Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions about the Directive.
