International Hotel- and Hospitality-Group ACCOR in late 2025 reached a major milestone with the eco‑certification of 50% of their worldwide network.
According to ACCOR, reaching the milestone of more than 2,800 eco‑certified hotels — which is half of the ACCOR global network — reflects commitment to putting sustainability principles into practice. “Eco‑certification offers a powerful way to validate and showcase our hotels’ environmental and social performance, with independent criteria and third‑party on‑site audits, providing the transparency and accountability guests, corporate clients, and partners expect”, says ACCOR in a media release.
Since 2023, Accor has worked with global leaders Green Key and Green Globe Certification, as well as regional programs such as Ecotourism Australia, China Green Hotel Association and Green Key Global in North America, helping hotels achieve recognition that meets both local realities and global standards.
“Certification brings tangible advantages: confidence for guests, eligibility for corporate contracts, and enhanced visibility across key channels”, says the hospitality giant. On ALL.com, certified hotels display a badge and, from 2025, guests can filter results by certification.
According to ACCOR, behind each certification lies a collective effort — sales teams leveraging it as a differentiator, procurement aligning sourcing with ecolabel requirements, brands making it a core standard, and technical teams ensuring hotels comply from the outset.
The certified properties are inspiring guest confidence, achieving greater appeal for corporate clients, and driving commercial growth through stories from the dedication of our hotels, owners, as well as global teams.
Here are some of the inspiring stories from teams around the world who made this milestone possible:
Brazil’s First Green Key Resort
Austria’s Green Key Success (Konzerthaus)
“Receiving the Green Key certification is more than recognition; it is proof of our continuous dedication to a more sustainable future. We are proud to make history as the first resort in Brazil to achieve this milestone and will continue innovating to reduce our environmental footprint while creating positive social impact.” Carlos Jacobina, General Manager, Novotel Itu Golf & Resort, Brazil.
